First Friday of Summer

The two older boys have spent their first full week of summer vacation at camps.  Z fenced for 3 hours each morning at his club before coming home to relax before heading out to play with the neighbors.  The camp culminated with a tournament this morning so K and I "had the privilege of" watching 3 hours of fencing.  Z is on the left in the photo above.  Based on my VERY poor assessment of the situation, I'd say he earned the point for the contact on his opponent's mask; however, it is entirely possible that I am completely wrong.  I still haven't figured out this sport.
After the tournament ended, we headed to a park for some lunch and so that K could run around for awhile.  He played for a bit and then found a rock wall and decided his time would be better spent meditating.  It was too cute so I had to snap a quick photo before he opened his eyes.  Notice the "Rock On" fingers instead of the usual pose.
We ended the day watching the last 2 hours of E's basketball camp.  He's been at his daddy's school dribbling, shooting, passing, and defending from 9-3:30 each day.  This action shot was taken as he dribbled down for a layup in the semi-final.  (I usually try not to mention stats, but I was impressed by these.)  E scored 8 of his team's 12 points in the semi-final game and had an assist on one of the other shots.  It must have been his game!  They earned their way into the finals and lost a close one.  All-in-all it was a great week of activity!

Wow - sounds like the boys have been busy enjoying their camps. Sounds like you have done a lot of "watching". Hope you are having a great start to your summer.
